This a collection of projects that I have done over the years both for myself and other people. I'm a high school shop teacher, so some of these projects are ones I do with my students, but most things are around the house. Hopefully you find something on here helpful. Thanks.
ShopBot Buddy - Power Stick Upgrade
ShopBot Buddy model. Original table size was 24" X 48". I bought the larger powerstick, and installed it to bring the capacity to 48" X 48". I couldn't find a good demo on how to do this, so I made this video as I installed it.
After posting, I was advised by a guy on Reddit who made some corrections to my method. I really appreciate his insight:.
- You don't have to take off the 2 v-wheels like I did to remove and install the powerstick(s). You can just remove the stop at the end and pull the stick straight out.
- He uses rare earth magnets in the track of the powerstick to align the t-nuts with the holes in the spoiler board.

Переглядів 1,1 тис.6 місяців тому
I added a booster (mixing valve) to the output of my 40 gallon water heater. I show how I installed it, and also the tests I ran in order to see how much of an improvement it made to the capacity of the heater.
Build a Bigger Swing Set!
Переглядів 906 місяців тому
The old swing set was getting too small for my kids, so I kept part of it and rebuilt it so it could handle them as they got bigger. Used 12' treated 4 x4's and a 4 x 6 for the top beam.
Garage Stairs for Storage - Replacing the Pulldown.
Переглядів 8227 місяців тому
Built an L-shaped set of stairs in the corner of my garage to replace the existing pulldown ladder. This allowed me to access the attic safely without trying to haul things up the ladder. I show how I planned them out and built them.
Herculiner on a Utility Trailer? Why Not?
Переглядів 1,2 тис.11 місяців тому
My older trailer needed a paint job, and I had most of a can of Herculiner left over from a previous job. I coated the whole thing with 2 coats and tested it by hauling some bikes. It had okay results.

Переглядів 2,9 тис.11 місяців тому
Designed and built a 10 x 14 backyard shed. Shed sits on skids on a gravel base. Materials cost around $200 and took two of us 8-9 days to build. I explain how I built it, the materials used, and some issues that I ran into.
Nissan Frontier Tailgate Replacement
Переглядів 978Рік тому
I replaced the damaged tailgate on my 2018 Nissan Frontier with a primed tailgate shell I ordered from RockAuto for $318 (they get you on the shipping). I show the steps it took to remove the guts from the old one and put it in the new one. Frontiers are pretty similar from year to year, so it probably would work for most models.
Quikcrete Walk Maker Patio - 2 Year Update
Переглядів 11 тис.Рік тому
2 year update of a patio I built using the Quikcrete Walk Maker country stone form to make a 133 sqft patio. Stained the concrete using Eagle acid stain, and sealed it with Behr wet-look sealer. Project cost around $500.

Nissan Frontier - Broken Tail Light Solution (Tail Light Guards)
Переглядів 773Рік тому
There's plenty of videos out there that show you how to replace your tail lights on a Frontier, but what about preventing them from getting broken to begin with? I have hit them way too many times loading shingles, plywood, bikes, etc., so I put on tail light guards after I replaced my broken tail lights. These guards at least give them a chance to survive future impacts.
Rust-Oleum EpoxyShied Basement Floor Application
Переглядів 20 тис.Рік тому
Overview of the process of applying the Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield to a concrete basement floor. I showed all the prep steps and the products I used to complete the job. I also tested the surface at the end for abrasion resistance and gave a cost estimate for a small basement.

Homemade 50' Power Drain Auger (Out of a 3 Gallon bucket)
there are products where you spray it on your roof and over time it prevents algae, I would imagine you could use that for the walkway. We used wet & forget, but there are other products that do the same (just different names that I don't remember). It did work great on our roof.
Omg thank you so much I was so nervous I broke something. Life Saver!!😅
It appears each individual paver is still in good shape? None broken?
Wow thanks so much. You the best. The bathroom was out. The one in the garage was fine, but the one in the bathroom wasn't. 😂 Thanks a lot for this video.
Thank you so very much!!!! This was very helpful!!
Thank you ! ! !
Great video
Thanks you saved me a couple of hundred bucks. I appreciate you very much. Great tip.
Instead of staining after … you could have added a colour pigment to the concrete mix ?
Is it driveway? can you drive up to it?
How long did it take you to do one form? Great video. Thank you
EVERY video "find the GFCI!" and voila. I have NO tripped GFCIs and my circuit breaker box is fine.
Brilliant, now if we could only find a 100ft cable..:)
Man, I'm just going to use concrete paint.
I just watched about a dozen videos, and yours was the one that solves it! Nice work!
Aw ok
thank you very much ,problem solved
No border
thank you. found one in my laundry room.
Nice, getting ready to do my 4x8 next week, I bought 3 rattle cans, going to give the spray stuff a try
great video but that beeping kills
Thank you 👍👍👍💪💪💪 Saved my Day . much appreciated ✌
Nice sweet. Thank you!!
Is there a screen anywhere in the device that may need cleaned occasionally? If so, where is it located?
You saved me, it the GFCI in my garage needed reset!
That work😊 Thank for that video
Super helpful to see this update. Your original video is what inspired us to use this system and we're 2/3 of the way done with the patio and path at this point. Thanks!
I know this video is a few yrs old. but I just wanted to say thank you. Had an outdoor receptical stop working. Couldn't find a tripped breaker. Called an electrician on a Saturday would have not been cheap. Watched your video in the meantime, basement outlet tripped, reset it, good to go!! thank you, sir!!!
Thank you. You had me at GFI!! Saved me time and money.
Wow looks great!!
I tried every gfci in the whole house and it didn’t help! Every outlet on the outside of my house doesn’t work!
Did you check the attic, garage, crawlspace, or basement?
Thank you I have an outlet that stopped working I replaced the outlet it was weathered but that didn’t work well I went to all my outlets with the reset bing power!
Looks great. Time wise well, i got time not $
I often wanted to do this same exact project but I was grappling between doing jointing sand or what I thought after the concrete was stained maybe instead of jointing sand sweeping in dry concrete and then wetting it down and after it’s dry then sealing over the entire project a couple times. Do you think that would hold up any better?
I don't think it's a bad idea. However, I wonder if the joints would crack after a winter of heaving. I'm blowing mine out this year and trying joining sand again. I think it might finally settle out now by year 3.
How did you get the recommended thickness? My coverage was more than the estimated cover by quite a bit using a 1/2" nap roller. Manual states 3mil thickness, but I am not seeing that type of thickness.
Yeah, I found it to be pretty thin. I just did the one coat, but I'm sure you could go over it a couple times.
Thanks, saved me a tin of money!❤
Good deal
What made you got 2x4 floor joists instead of 2x6?
I was ordinally going for the 2 x 6's, but I've seen enough production sheds with just 2 x 4's that I was convinced it was enough. It's just a shed. I also think going 3/4" on the plywood floor gives you what you need.
Thanks awesome creative money saving idea ! I have the same issue and just want a little pop of light and this is totally what I wanted !
It's all your you like it that's what count 💖
Does it have to be a 1/2 inch drill i built this and my drill wont spin it it slips of off the end instead of grabbing it?
3/8 drill should work, you just gotta tighten that chuck down. You could go for old drill with a Jacob's chuck. That will grab on just fine.
Wow!!! Thank you so much! I would have never figured this out. Im not an electrician so I definitely would have called someone. I even tried changing the breaker, I was completely stymied! I owe you one my brother.
Glad I could help!
Kiefer means Pine Tree in German.
Great to see this update. I see that I could do this by myself. Also an affordable solution to my yard. Thanks so much. 😉👍❤
Thanks for sharing this video. 😉👍❤
Looks awesome.
Comprehensive video man. Thanks!
No prob.
Man I was losing hope. All my indoor GFCI are good. But I have one at the front of the house. It’s fixed now.
I appreciate your concise and comprehensive approach with honest portrayal of what issues DIY epoxy flooring can turn out like. I am particularly glad you showed how to deal with etching when you are in a basement (unlike a garage where you can simply blast it with a garden hose).
Glad to help
I give you props for figuring all of that out! Great job! Not something I would attempt even thought I would love to have foglights on my Frontier. I wonder what the dealer would charge for installation of the foglights? Any idea?
No idea. I feel like everything they touch is expensive. This is pretty doable if just you go through the wheel well. You don't have take off the bumper like I did.
Great video. Thanks!
